Maison Blunt

Maison Blunt is a Moroccan-inspired tearoom and restaurant in the hip area of Kreis 5, a few tram stops or a short walk from the main train station in Zurich. Set in an industrial building with an unassuming entrance, the interior has been transformed into an exotic oasis; the colourful and patterned wall and floor tiles cleverly work together to create an uplifting ambiance, and the fresh bouquet of garden flowers at every table add further charm.

The menu features seasonal and local dishes, as well as Moroccan classics such as couscous, tagines and a generous selection of cold and warm mezzes. But the breakfast menu is just as inspiring, whether you are after a classic continental breakfast or something with a Moroccan twist. The Blunts Hausfrühstück (house breakfast) is an early morning mezze delight with small portions of hummus, feta purée, cucumber salad, yoghurt with fresh fruit, olives and dried fruits. Not your everyday breakfast in Zurich, but sometimes it’s nice to try something a bit different.

? Like most places in Zurich, Maison Blunt is child-friendly. Although the space can be a bit tight (especially during busy periods), there is room for prams in both the tearoom and restaurant. High-chairs are provided, as well as a baby-changing table.

If you ever visit Zurich again, please let me know as it would be lovely to meet you!! Maison Blunt won’t have your traditional Swiss food, but it’s still a great place to visit. The area surrounding Maison Blunt is also very interesting. I’m grateful to my friends who introduced me to this place 🙂
